Product Notes

Featuring a homespun blend of acoustic instruments, rural sound scapes, and wistful vocals, Great Lake Swimmers are led by songwriter/vocalist Tony Dekker. The Toronto-based group's haunting, self-titled debut was recorded in a silo in Ontario and originally released in Canada by Weewerk Records in 2003. Great Lake Swimmers' second release, Bodies and Minds, was issued in August 2005, followed in 2007 by Ongiara (whose winsome leadoff track, Your Rocky Spine, boosted the band's profile when it appeared on the soundtrack of Showtime's Weeds). 2009s Lost Channels will be released March 31 featuring Pulling on a Line and She Comes to Me in Dreams. In 2008 Great Lake Swimmers shared the stage with an impressive list of artists, including Feist, Bela Fleck & the Sparrow Quartet, Hayden, Goldfrapp, Bill Callahan of Smog, and Robert Plant & Alison Krauss.
