Product Notes
"Love Chronicles", released in 1969, is the 2nd studio album by Al Stewart. The album is notable for it's ambitious and thematic approach, blending elements of folk, rock, and progressive music. It showcases Al Stewart's distinctive songwriting style and poetic lyrics. The title track, spanning over 18 minutes, is a narrative song that intricately weaves a story of love and relationships, exploring themes of passion, heartbreak, and introspection. This epic track remains a standout piece in Al Stewart's discography and is often cited as one of the longest narrative songs in popular music history. The album was recorded with contributions from Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) and the members of Fairport Convention, who are credited under pseudonyms. In early 1970, "Love Chronicles" was named Melody Maker's 1969 Folk Album of the Year. This CD release includes three bonus tracks.
