Product Notes

Gareth Quinn Redmond is an Irish ambient musician, recognized as one of the leading voices in

Ireland's ambient music scene. His work is deeply influenced by the Japanese concept of

Kankyo Ongaku-or environmental music-which focuses on crafting soundscapes that help

the listener connect with their surroundings. Much of Quinn Redmond's music draws from the

work of composer Satoshi Ashikawa, who described his work as a "sound scenery to be listened

to casually... drifting like smoke." This philosophy is central to Quinn Redmond's compositions,

which blend seamlessly into their environment, encouraging stillness and a deeper engagement

with everyday life.

In addition to his solo work, Quinn Redmond is a member of the Irish band Throwing Shapes

and has also collaborated with numerous artists, including Albert Karch, C.R Gillespie, and

Francis Harris. He has released music on respected labels such as WRWTFWW Records and

Hidden Harmony Recordings, earning recognition for his delicate approach to the shape of

sound. On November 14th, Quinn Redmond will release his latest album, Múscailte, via record

label sound as language.

Múscailte continues Quinn Redmond's exploration of sound, silence, and subtlety,

blending fragile textures to create space for quiet contemplation. Warm analogue synthesis

and the bell-like tones of the Hohner Pianet invite the listener into quiet reflection and gently

hold them in stillness. Inspired by the works of Hiroshi Yoshimura, Gareth Quinn Redmond

presents an album composed for the soft unfolding of morning-a sound design that embraces

slowness and presence. Each piece offers space to dwell in the minute, to notice, to simply be.
