Midnight Wind: Legendary RSO Recordings couples two unfairly overlooked albums - Bombs Away Dream Babies (1979) and Dream Babies Go Hollywood (1980) - and two unreleased outtakes from Bombs Away sessions. Featuring songs composed and interpreted by Stewart (1939-2008), these two albums are forever linked not only by their main titles but also by the passion of their performances, the craftsmanship of their songs, and the originality of their production. Artifacts from a time of enormous cultural change, these albums have been unavailable in legitimate physical and online formats for years, victims of music industry trends and of a record company's dissolution. The first of the two albums was an international bestseller, while the second was a commercial flop (though, in hindsight, those who actually heard it deemed it equal to it's predecessor). That these albums are now being reissued together, many decades after their original release, not only constitutes a gift to Stewart's longtime fans but also offers a potentially life-changing experience to a new generation who value human-scale songs set to intuitive arrangements that fuse folk and pop-rock sounds and sensibilities. BEAR FAMILY RECORDS® took the initiative to reissue these undeniably significant albums, augmenting their previous reissues of several Stewart solo albums as well as his extensive recording work with the Kingston Trio. Midnight Wind: Legendary RSO Recordings might help increase worldwide awareness of this charismatic, uncompromising artist's indelible legacy of songs and recordings - including these two albums, which hold a central place in that legacy.
