Product Notes
Wealthy New York party girl Joan Prescott (Joan Crawford) has lassoed herself a cowboy! Not that she plans to when she heads west to her family's Montana ranch. But she steps off the train at a nowhere town to elude an on-board lothario, meets a handsome crooning cowhand named Larry, and soon the two are like doves ready to nest at the Montana ranch. Yet the honeymoon may be short when straight-arrow Larry sees Joan's exotic tango with a city slicker. Once a party girl, never a wife? Crawford makes herself at home under a Montana Moon, playing the kind of Jazz Age flapper that shot her to stardom in Our Dancing Daughters. Drawling screen buckaroo John Mack Brown costars in a sometimes saucy pre-Code film that was the first to bring a singing cowboy to a non-variety talkie. Crooning cowpokes Ken Maynard, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers and more would later blaze tuneful trains that all stretch from this moonlit Montana.
