O'Donel Levy is one of the great soul jazz guitarists of the 60's and 70's, best known as sideman for Jimmy McGriff, Groove Holmes, Dizzy Gillespie and Herbie Mann. The album 'Simba' was originally released on the legendary Groove merchant label in 1973, produced by Sonny Lester. This is the first worldwide release for this album, considered to be Levy's definitive work. Written and arranged by the great Manny Albam, the album features a who's who of 1970's jazz stars, including David Sanborn, Tony Levin, Steve Gadd, Jon Faddis, Lew Soloff and Cecil Bridgewater.
