Product Notes
Oasis is a trailblazing output across the 1970s and '80s. Widely regarded as the architect of the Munich disco sound, Moroder transformed popular music with his fusion of driving synths and infectious dance rhythms. The set brings together key solo tracks, including the anthemic 'From Here To Eternity,' alongside landmark productions such as Sparks's 'Beat The Clock' and Donna Summer's 'Lady Of The Night'. It also features dancefloor classics and soundtrack highlights, including 'Lady Lady' from the 1983 film Flashdance. As the producer behind Donna Summer's rise to global stardom, Moroder pioneered the use of sequencers and synthesizers, laying the foundations for electronic dance music. His work extended far beyond the club scene into major film soundtracks, earning multiple Grammy and Academy Awards and securing his place as one of the most influential producers of his generation. Much of this music was created at Munich's Musicland Studios, Moroder's creative hub. Working with Munich Machine and a roster of international artists including Roberta Kelly, Joe Esposito, Paul Engemann, Keith Forsey, Harold Faltermeyer and Suzi Lane, he produced some of the most innovative and successful disco and pop records of the era. Oasis captures the legacy of a career that reshaped pop, disco and electronic music.
