Seven-time GRAMMY®-nominated Cuban composer and jazz pianist Omar Sosa has assembled a new trio with award-winning German trumpet player Joo Kraus and Venezuelan percussionist Gustavo Ovalles. Kraus was a member of Sosa's Afri-Lectric Experience - the sextet that recorded Sosa's GRAMMY®-nominated Miles Davis tribute album Eggun. Ovalles was featured on Sosa's 2003 recording Ayaguna, and was also part of the octet that recorded Sosa's Roots Trilogy recordings. JOG exemplifies Sosa's philosophy of jazz as freedom. The music is improvisation-based, with each player bringing expression of his musical roots to the collective experience.
