Once controversial for it's explicit sexuality, this Swedish drama-banned in multiple countries upon it's release-charts the impulsive love affair between a 19-year-old student and the young woman he falls in love with during an idyllic summer spent on his uncle's farmlands. The objections of the girl's extremely religious parents only drive the young lovers closer together... with tragedy the eventual result. Edvin Adolphson, Ulla Jacobsson star. Uncut version; 108 min.
