In 2005, Alan Douglas heard a song by Perrine Mansuy (piano) & Francois Cordas (saxophones) on a compilation he found by accident in a store and decided to contact LeDuo for a project that he had been thinking about for several years. The idea behind this project was to record a series of albums dedicated to the greatest French singer/songwriter writers. Jacques Brel and Charles Aznavour were chosen for the first two volumes. LeDuo met the challenge with enthusiasm and excitement. Everything came together quickly: The choice of songs, the arrangements, the recording. Today, these records bear witness to the beautiful and profound humanity of Brel and Aznavour, and LeDuo's admirable ability to capture and communicate it. Douglas. 2007.
