René Kubelík and Patrizio Mazzola present a selection of musical gems that can be subsumed under the genre "Songs without Words". Works by seven female composers, including Ruth Dürrenmatt, Cécile Chaminade and Fanny Mendelssohn are juxtaposed with miniatures by four composers and together form a surprising kaleidoscope of works from the 19th and 20th centuries.
