Tenor saxophonist composer Ned Otter's new release "Powder Keg" was recorded in the legendary Van Gelder studio. This is Ned's third release for Two and Four, and considering the incendiary performances turned in by the brilliant quintet, "Powder Keg" is a most appropriate title. The outstanding sidemen include trumpeter Tom Kirkpatrick, pianist Harold Mabern and the late Billy Higgins on drums - all members of Ned's group on his first Two and Four release, "So Little Time" (TFR #2) along with the rock solid and vibrant bass of Dennis Irwin.
