A detective investigates an intriguing murder case in the 2006 Japanese feature RETRIBUTION. All clues in the case seem to suggest that the detective is, in fact, also the killer, causing much bafflement as he tries to prove his innocence, find the real murderer, and battle with his own self-doubts. The case takes a further twist when more murder victims turn up, especially as each case bears a marked similarity.
