Formed in Los Angeles during the closing years of the 1980s, Rhino Bucket stuck out like a sore thumb by daring to ignore makeup and hairspray, adopting instead a rough-hewn look and approach, a style that set them apart from the baying hordes looking to out glam each other. This was a band content to steer clear of the usual clichs and focus instead on killer riffs and uncompromising energy. Sure, the AC/DC comparisons might, to an extent, have been justified but the band's relentless attack and pummelling riffs injected a fresh take on a tried and tested formula.
