This collection of songs performed by Ike & Tina Turner includes tracks produced by Phil Spector and produced by Ike Turner, with two very different styles. The thread that ties them all together is the outstanding vocals of Tina Turner. The cover photography was by actor Dennis Hopper. Ike & Tina Turner were once considered "one of the hottest, most durable, and potentially most explosive of all R&B ensembles". Their early works became high points in the development of soul music. They were also known for their often-ribald live performances, which were only matched by that of James Brown and the Famous Flames in terms of musical spectacle.
