Product Notes
Lil Green, one of the unsung heroines of 1940's Blues, presents 16 of her Chicago recordings mostly with the guitar accompaniment of Big Bill Broonzy. Also featured are her original versions of 'Romance in the Dark' covered and revived by scores of artists including Jeri Southern and Billie Holiday and 'Why Don't You Do Right?', turned into a major pop hit by Peggy Lee with Benny Goodman's Orchestra. Fabulous. 2003.
