Sembrando Flores is the newest studio recording from young Son Jarocho masters Los Cojolites. Always pushing the boundaries of what Son Jarocho can mean while staying firmly rooted in their rich cultural traditions of Veracruz, Mexico, Los Cojolites have quickly gained an international reputation for excellence and authenticity within a rapidly growing genre. Featuring their percussion of the tarima (wooden platform or stage played by dancing on it with wood-bottomed shoes) and the quijada (jawbone of a horse struck on the side to create a rattling sound) along with stringed instruments (requite jarocho, jarana, and leona) that the young musicians hand carve and create themselves, Los Cojolites take a deep cultural tradition and push the envelope with their original compositions mixed with traditional songs and their expansive musicality.
