Product Notes
Originally started in 1990 as an ambient-dub side-project to the psychedelic pop/rock group Magic Mushroom Band, with members taking part in both groups, Astralasia soon began to explore the dancefloor space and became part of the trance scene along with Ozric Tentacles. 'Seven-Pointed Star' was released at the height of the trance scene in 1996 and is regarded as one of the best trance albums ever released. The opening title track is an uplifting trance anthem featuring Mel Taylor's wonderful vocals which was even played on Radio 1's breakfast show at the time! The album features 'Greyarea' an uplifting trance track that sits alongside such classic chill out tunes as 'God Forms on The Astral', the album's journey culminating in the epic 14 minute 'Astral Vision'. This box set is the first in a series of releases from the Magick Eye label, combining the album with singles from around the time and the 'Space Between' album from the same year. The package comes with sleeve notes by Delirium label founder Richard Allen who explores the band's history with help from founder member Marc Swordfish and label head Chris Hillman.
