The second release by this Portland, OR group lives in a slightly darker space than their self-titled 2007 debut which was jangly and upbeat. But even in their darkest moments, there's a reluctant optimism in the lyrics and instrumentation, and the brighter tracks keep the band's trademark head-bobbing, multi-rhythmic rock intact.
