Master guitarist Carl Verheyen temporarily "loses" his working band and proclaims the power of one via this new album. Solo work is not new to Carl - his live appearances often include a segment where he excuses the band & does a couple of numbers alone. This is his first release without a band, and it features an eclectic mix of styles & repertoire, from a bluesy rendition of the Charlie Mingus line "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat" to the very moving "I Loves You Porgy," to his own composition "Big Sur."
