Product Notes

The color is purple, Spangle.

Awakened from a purple sleep, bitter and sweet, 10th anniversary Lili Line (slightly). 10th anniversary

Spangle, the first new album in three years (5th) is finally completed!

While the piano album 'ISOLATION' released in September was well received, the long-awaited full album 'PURPLE' is now on sale. It

's been three years since the original album, and they've broken their long silence (purple sleep) and resumed their activities. Just like that, they're making a good start with their positivity. In their

memorial year, celebrating their 10th anniversary, Spangle are more motivated than ever to create.

It's like they carefully but skillfully scoop up that endless passion... As with their previous work 'ISOLATION', the sound production by Yoshida Jin (Salon Music) brings it together with a cool feel.

'PURPLE', produced as a pair with the classical piano album 'ISOLATION' released in September, is a new album full of mellow sounds with a laid-back Spangle-like feel. In stark contrast to the classical and monochrome atmosphere of the previous work, the song composition is centered on band ensembles, which are their original characteristics, and the unique sense of language written by Kana Otsubo. The dry (w/ a little damp) and poker-faced (can't be?) style, which is lyrical yet also has a cynical side, has been further refined, and the hip content has increased the rough and edgy street feel. A new Spangle standard that

exquisitely blends the mellow and soulful beach and saudade feeling of Tommy Guerrero and American West Coast culture with the layered feeling of the dense sound of Yo La Tengo and Nordic electronica.

As with the previous work, Yoshida Jin is welcomed as the producer. For that reason, these two albums were recorded at the same time. The sound is organized with a continuous appearance.

However, the defining feature of this album is the band ensemble, which has a different feel from the previous piano album. The performance is as easygoing as ever, but still in the style of a 10-year veteran. It exudes a graceful atmosphere and weaves a rich groove that smoothly seeps into the heart and gradually affects the body. The album

begins with M1 'mai,' which cuts in without an intro, followed by M3 'nm,' the first instrumental song since the band's formation, which has a taste as if it was performed relaxingly in a seaside garage. M4 'rio' is a

smooth, lyrical rebirth of the lead song from the previous album, 'roam in octave,' which also had a well-received MV, cooked up with a band arrangement. M5 'cast a spell on her' also has a fresh sound, as if the acclaimed representative song of acoustic pop, 'nano,' was updated to a duet version with an acoustic touch. Furthermore, track 8 'Shell for Mew' is a strangely memorable number that lingers on your mind, and you

might even call it a mildly feverish funk. A cool, funky song with a subdued tone, this song is a new frontier for the band.

This is the kind of soundscape that comes from this. This is their fifth new album, and their first in three years. The name is 'PURPLE'.

They have a DIY spirit, producing not only the music but also the artwork and music video themselves. Their free-spirited and progressive attitude has given birth to a new standard, born from their craftsmanship, which has given them a unique stance. It's a masterpiece.
