If I had to pick one word to describe Marlovers, that word would be "elegant". This is cocktail party-pop at it's finest: very spot-on female vocals (lead and backing) over jangly guitar pop with a healthy dose of vintage keyboards. If you remember the band Super (Finland's less-successful answer to the Cardigans), this band is a dead ringer for 'em. Though this Spanish band formed in 2005, this is their first full-length album, after a 7" release on the Clifford label in 2010. They even brought in Ian Catt (St. Etienne, Field Mice) to help, and the result is a dozen pop songs that are simply stunning and, well, elegant!
