In the wake of legal and financial difficulties caused by the previous Momus album, Stars Forever was constructed as a way out of those woes. 30 songs about 30 people who each gave $1000 to have their likeness rendered in song by Momus. Such influential artists as Keigo Oyamada (aka Cornelius) and Jeff Koons (pop artist par exultance) paid dearly for this honor.
