This Epic Celtic Death Metal five-pieced combo was born in 2012 in the city of Barcelona (Spain); founded by vocalist and lead guitar Jon Thorgrimr Fjonir. The original sound of the band combines the roughest Death Metal with celtic melodies and epic harmonies, all powered by a strong gutural lead voice. After an extensive tour through Spain and two EP's, "The Voice from the Forest" (2013) and "The Legend" (2014), which were successful in the Spanish metal community, Steignyr released their first LP "Tales of a Forgotten Hero" (2014) through Art Gates Records worldwide. After receiving an outstanding feedback touring Europe, the band released their second opus "The Prophecy of the Highlands", being praised by the media and fans and even going to China for a complete tour entitled "The Prophecy of the Asian Lands" followed by the great success that was their latest album "Myths Through The Shadows of Freedom". Throgrimr and his renewed line up are now back stronger than ever with their most ambitiopus album to date, counting with outstanding collaborations such as Kit Harrington & Peter Dinklage (Game of thrones) and Sir Ian McKellen (Lord of the Rings), "The Legacy of Wyrd" promises to be one of the Folk Metal releases of the year. This new album will be coming out on July 23rd 2021 via Art Gates Records.
