Product Notes
To a generation of moviegoers, coming of age included four special films: A Summer Place. Parrish. Rome Adventure. And Susan Slade. Written for the screen and directed by Delmer Daves, this passionate drama contains all the right ingredients - a pretty and innocent teen (Connie Stevens), intense young men who love her (including Stevens' Parrish costar Troy Donahue), money, stunning clothes, gorgeous scenery, secrets, sex and heartbreak. The story begins with Susan's first affair, which ends tragically when the boy is killed and Susan, already pursued by two other young men, is left pregnant. Her devoted parents offer to pass the infant off as their own. But can Susan deny her own child, even if revealing the scandalous truth means giving up a second chance at love?
