(SACD-HYBRID) Some of the most beautiful folk tune hymns from Dalecarlia arranged for a cappella choir and organ. When Nils Lindberg came to Stockholm in the 1950s to study music he knew exactly what he wanted to do: first he would study at the Royal Academy of Music and then he would compose major symphonic works. He brought with him folk music and church music from his native province of Dalarna where the composer Oskar Lindberg was a major influence. Swedish Folk Tunes from Dalecarlia consists of folk tunes with religious lyrics performed by the excellent Uppsala Cathedral Choir. Also included are some organ variations based on these religious Swedish folk tunes.
