Product Notes
Paul Williams, the Grammy Award-winning, critically acclaimed and hugely successful composer, singer and sometime actor, has one of his most popular solo albums re-released on vinyl for the first time since the 1970s - 'The Best Of Paul Williams'.
Williams' songs have been covered by artists as varied as The Monkees, Three Dog Night, Bobby Womack, Barbra Streisand, The Carpenters, George Benson, Kris Kristofferson, and even Kermit the Frog. Paul Williams own recordings are fine showcases for his strongly melodic, lyrically engaging, and beautifully-produced songs, and feature the cream of America's session musician talent of the early to mid-seventies, including the likes of Russ Kunkel (drums) and Leland Sklar (bass), mainstays of James Taylor's band. His own soulful versions of hits-for-others such as 'Rainy Days and Mondays', 'We've Only Just Begun' and 'Just An Old Fashioned Love Song' illustrate that Williams was a richly-talented performer in his own right.Credits
