Williams' songs have been covered by artists as varied as The Monkees, Three Dog Night, Bobby Womack, Barbra Streisand, The Carpenters, George Benson, Kris Kristofferson, and even Kermit the Frog. Paul Williams own recordings are fine showcases for his strongly melodic, lyrically engaging, and beautifully-produced songs, and feature the cream of America's session musician talent of the early to mid-seventies, including the likes of Russ Kunkel (drums) and Leland Sklar (bass), mainstays of James Taylor's band.
