Product Notes
Death is only the beginning in this fun-filled, family-focused romantic fantasy ably anchored by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer mainstay Frank Morgan (The Wizard of Oz). Shipbuilder Sam Griggs (Morgan) suffers a fatal coronary while struggling to ensure his family's future with a shaky, secret real-estate investment he made with best friend Tom Carter (Cecil Kellaway). The specter that arrives to escort Sam to his final reward is his father, Ben Griggs (Keenan Wynn). Sam recruits his father to help provide for his family: devoted wife Amy (Gladys Cooper); daughter Jennifer (Audrey Totter), who's carrying on a one-sided romance with an oblivious geology professor (Richard Quine); and son Jim (Marshall Thompson), who's short on the funds he needs to travel to Europe to study shipbuilding. And to ensure best friend Tom doesn't succumb to greed, rascally Ben unleashes a stormy trick or two from up his ghostly sleeve!
