This collection traces the evolution of a story that begins with a single underdog narrative and expands into multiple interpretations: The Karate Kid (1984), directed by John Avildsen, introduces Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Miyagi, establishing the teacher student dynamic that defines the series. Part II (1986) and Part III (1989) extend that relationship into new conflicts, both personal and external. The Next Karate Kid (1994) shifts focus, placing a new student under Miyagi's guidance. The Karate Kid (2010) reimagines the premise for a different generation, relocating the story and altering it's cultural framework. Viewed together, the films chart how a simple premise can be reshaped across decades.
