In this pre-Code delight, socialite Ann Brooks (Kay Francis) is married to a wealthy older man (Henry Kolker), while not being quite properly divorced from her unseemly ex (Monroe Owsley). Ann flees to Cuba to untangle her circumstances, while her suspicious husband hires suave private detective Neil Davis (George Brent) to tail her and gather evidence against Ann. The assignment takes a steamy, unexpected turn when the investigator tries to get the goods on her, only to fall madly in love.
