Pianist Pete Malinverni teams up again for the fifth time with the formidable and estimable accompanists Dennis Irwin on bass and Leroy Williams on drums. Together they create a program of inspired performances of standards and original compositions. Pete's original "The Tempest" sets the pace with an energy level that is maintained throughout the session. Included is a rousing duo performance on "Get Happy" that explores the many textures available with just piano and drums, and there are two unique solo versions of "Alone Together" which demonstrate Pete's innate improvisational skills and adventurous use of counterpoint.
