Originally released in 2001, the Triumphs and Travails of Orphan Mae set Laura Veirs on a course for the next decade; the first of five albums recorded with producer Tucker Martine (The Decemberists, My Morning Jacket, Sufjan Stevens, Tift Merritt) that would culminate (in a circular fashion) with 2010's July Flame.
