Description
Placebo's documentary This Search For Meaning, directed by award-winning Scottish filmmaker Oscar Sansom, explores the lyrics and subject matter of Placebo's songs, while charting their evolution. Interviews with the band members underline Placebo's ongoing socio-cultural curiosity and musical journey. Contributions from other significant figures within the arts include Shirley Manson (Garbage), Robbie Williams, Yungblud, Rebecca Lucy Taylor (Self Esteem), Joe Talbot (IDLES), and contemporary artist Stuart Semple. The film's overall narrative is structured around new performances of Placebo's latest songs intercut with archive footage of the band, and exclusive never-before-seen material that spans their entire career - including their collaboration with David Bowie. The 2 CDs feature This Is What You Wanted - Live In Mexico City, as well as a bonus track edition of their 2022 album Never Let Me Go which includes their cover of Tears For Fears' "Shout", and a pull-out poster booklet.
