The Belcea Quartet embarks on this project more than twelve years after their initial exploration into the music of Brahms. This two disc set is an eagerly awaited complete recording of Brahms' string quartets. The Belcea Quartet is known for their powerful style and their sense of musical form and architecture. These skills have set them as one of the top international quartets, and this program allows all of these characteristics to bloom in full. For Brahms' Piano Quintet, the members of Belcea are joined by Austrian pianist Till Fellner. Fellner is one of today's most respected pianists, combining musical intelligence with grace and interpretive rigor. Upon this album's release, The Belcea Quartet will embark upon a tour which will take the group across Europe and to the US. Coinciding with this release is the re release of The Belcea Quartet's complete Beethoven quartets.
