This group creates improvisational, experimental soundscapes that are dynamic, exotic and lush. Tokyo 77 consists of film composer Thomas Newman (who has scored over 60 films, including "American Beauty," "Road to Perdition," "Pay It Forward," "Shawshank Redemption," "Erin Brokovich," "Scent of a Woman," "Fried Green Tomatoes" and many others), plus musicians Chas Smith (playing custom designed instruments), Rick Cox (multi-instrumentalist, composer) and George Budd (turntables, electronics).
