Discovered by a large audience in 1992 thanks to his film Latcho Drom, director Tony Gatlif is the high priest of the Gypsy, Roma and Tzigane communities, whose wonderful contributions to music have been featured in all his films. Gatlif acted as musical-director for this soundtrack produced by Delphine Mantoulet and Valentin Dahmani, which translates both the blazing passions and the violent altercations between France's Turkish and Spanish communities. Geronimo is a rockopera heir to West Side Story.
