Product Notes
Black Splatter on Crystal Clear Vinyl. Following the release of Revival, fans clamored for a return to Petra's rock roots, and Jekyll & Hyde delivered. Led by John Schlitt on vocals and Bob Hartman on guitars, the band returned to form with aggressive riffs and thought-provoking lyrics. The album features contributions from session musicians like Peter Furler (Newsboys) on drums and Phil Joel on bass, ensuring a polished yet powerful production. If you grew up in a church youth group like I did in the 80s, you most likely weren't listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd / The only connection you had as a teenager was the Christian southern rock band Vision, whose first two albums came with hype stickers promoting Lynyrd Skynyrd members Billy Powell and Leon Wilkenson / If you didn't grow up in a conservative church, you absolutely knew of Lynyrd Skynyrd / Songs like "Free Bird" and "Sweet Home Alabama" were some of the most played songs of their time and still are in regular rotation nearly everywhere you go / On October 20, 1977, three members of Lynyrd Skynyrd, including lead singer Ronnie Van Zant, were killed in a plane crash / His brother Johnny Van Zant took over as lead vocalist when the band reunited, and Donnie Van Zant co-founded and sang for the rock band.38 Special / The two brothers formed Van Zant in the 1980s / As Christians, we longed for real rockers to turn to Christ and jam for the King, rock for the Rock, and (insert your silly cliché here) / That's exactly what has happened here / The Van Zant Brothers have put together a full-on Christian rock album, bringing all their rock prowess to worship the King of Kings on their newest album Always Look Up / Girder Music is proud to offer an exclusive vinyl version of this album!
