Product Notes
Voces8 at Christmas brings together 22 festive favourites recorded at the Voces8 Centre in London. Spanning eight Christmas seasons, the album celebrates the singers who have shaped the ensemble's sound from 2018 to 2026, offering a rich and varied programme of traditional carols, Renaissance polyphony and contemporary choral music. Much-loved Christmas music sits alongside works by Morten Lauridsen, John Tavener, Sally Beamish, Will Todd, Lucy Walker and Kerensa Briggs. From Silent Night and Away in a Manger to O Magnum Mysterium and In the Stillness, the programme combines familiar favourites with music for quieter moments of reflection. The album also celebrates Voces8's close relationships with composers and arrangers. Taylor Scott Davis's I Wait for Our Peace and Luke Mayernik's The Lamb feature alongside bespoke arrangements by Jim Clements and Blake Morgan, reflecting the creative partnerships at the heart of the ensemble's repertoire. A musical family album of eight Christmas seasons, Voces8 at Christmas brings together different generations of the ensemble, old friends and new voices. Music returned to year after year sits alongside newer works finding their place in the tradition, creating an inviting seasonal collection for choral enthusiasts and Christmas listeners alike
