Volume 3 supplements the 2 previous Jump releases (#1218 & 1219), with much the same format. It features the best of the New York City area mainstream musicians playing some of the lesser-heard tunes from 1920's, '30's, 40's with minimal arrangements, allowing each of the musicians an opportunity to express themselves, much in the manner of the Eddie Condon, Matty Matlock, Dick Cathcart, Bob Crosby small groups.
