Product Notes
Women in Cellbock 9 - Digitally Remastered. Women in Cellblock 9 (Original title: Frauen für Zellenblock 9) is a 1977 Swiss women-in-prison exploitation film directed by Spanish director Jesus Franco (Ilsa, The Wicked Warden and Barbed Wire Dolls) starring Howard Vernon and Karine Gambier. To this day, this film remains banned in the United Kingdom due to shocking scenes of sexual violence! In a remote South American country, a group of female freedom fighters, led by Karine Gambier, are captured and sent to prison. There they are subjected to terrible tortures at the hands of sadistic Dr. Costa (Howard Vernon). However, four of the inmates seduce a guard and escape and Costa and the warden need to find them before their barbaric practices are revealed.
