Having come of age on the outskirts of Austin, undocumented Filipina teen Rose Garcia (Eva Noblezada) turned to composing her own country ballads as a means of coping. Though a reluctantly pursued but rewarding open mic night gives her hopes for the future, they're just as quickly dashed when ICE comes for her hotel maid mom (Princess Punzalan) and she's unsure where to turn.
