Product Reviews
This two-fer from the Beat Goes On label includes two of genteel English progressive folk outfit Amazing Blondel's earliest records, 1972 s England and 1973 s Blondel. The former, their picturesque and pastoral fourth album, is the strongest of the pair, and is dominated by the side-long three-piece suite "The Paintings," while the latter introduced a more pop-oriented soft rock sound, due in large part to the departure of founder John Gladwin. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
Product Notes
Digitally remastered two-fer containing a pair of early releases from the British band: England (1972) and Blondel (1973).The Amazing Blondel are an acoustic Progressive Folk band, consisting of Eddie Baird, John Gladwin, and Terry Wincott. They are sometimes categorized as Psych folk or as Medieval Folk Rock, but their music was much more a reinvention of Renaissance music, based around the use of period instruments such as lutes and recorders.
